Direct primary care in Owasso and Tulsa

Direct primary care at Pathway Health & Beauty is a primary care membership with Tia Christ, APRN-CNP, a board-certified family nurse practitioner. Instead of billing insurance for every office visit, you pay a flat monthly fee.

That fee covers longer visits, an annual physical, discounted lab work and a provider who knows your health history. Our Functional Primary Care Membership combines family medicine with a functional medicine approach. The clinic is in Owasso, a short drive from Tulsa, with telehealth across Oklahoma.

The basics

What is direct primary care (DPC)?

Direct primary care is a healthcare model where patients pay a primary care provider directly through a monthly membership instead of going through insurance for office visits. Because a DPC practice does not bill insurance for visits, it can spend less time on paperwork and more time with patients.

Direct primary care is not health insurance. Most members keep insurance, often a lower-cost or high-deductible plan, for hospital stays, specialists, imaging and emergencies.

In a typical DPC practice

  • You pay a fixed monthly fee or an annual fee
  • Visits are longer and easier to schedule
  • No copays and no surprise bills for covered visits
  • Lab work and generic medications are often discounted
  • Easier, more direct access to your provider

Benefits

Why patients choose a flat monthly fee for health care

The direct primary care healthcare model has several benefits for patients who are tired of the traditional healthcare system.

Easy access and extended visits

Many DPC practices offer same day or next day appointments and unlimited office visits. Our membership includes six scheduled extended visits a year with Tia; ask us about extra visits when something comes up.

No unnecessary testing or surprise bills

Transparent pricing for lab work and laboratory services, and no additional cost hidden in a bill weeks later.

Comprehensive care for acute and chronic conditions

Personalized care for everyday illness, preventative care and chronic conditions from one provider who knows your health care needs.

Time that encourages healthy habits

Longer visits encourage patients to work on nutrition, sleep and stress, not just get a prescription and go.

Quality care from one care team: Tia

Many direct primary care practices are run by a direct primary care physician, a nurse practitioner or a physician assistant (PA-C). At Pathway, your care team is Tia Christ, APRN-CNP, a board-certified family nurse practitioner, at every visit.

Primary care, the way it should feel

One provider. Real time. A price you know up front.

Visits up to 60 minutes with the same nurse practitioner every time, and no surprise bills.

What we treat

What direct primary care services cover

Our direct primary care services cover most of what a family medicine office handles, for both acute and chronic conditions.

Acute illness and acute care

Colds, sinus infections, urinary tract infections, rashes and minor injuries that would otherwise send you to urgent care.

Chronic disease management

High blood pressure, prediabetes and type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, thyroid disease, asthma, anxiety and depression, with time for nutrition, sleep, stress and weight.

Preventive care

Annual physicals, preventive screenings, lab work and referrals for mammograms, colonoscopies and other screenings based on your age and health history.

Women's health and hormones

Well woman care, perimenopause and menopause care and hormone therapy.

When you need more

When you need specialized care, imaging or a hospital, we refer you and coordinate with your specialists.

Insurance and HSAs

Direct primary care and health insurance

Many DPC members pair their membership with a high-deductible health plan or catastrophic plan, which usually has lower insurance premiums. The membership covers everyday primary care, and insurance covers the big, unexpected healthcare expenses.

Can I use an HSA for direct primary care? Under a federal law that took effect in 2026, people with a health savings account can use HSA funds for qualifying direct primary care arrangements of up to $150 a month for an individual or $300 a month for a family without losing HSA eligibility. Ask us whether your membership qualifies, and check with your tax advisor.

For employers. Some local employers offer direct primary care memberships as a benefit to keep employees healthier and reduce healthcare expenses. If you are a business owner near Owasso or Tulsa, call us to talk about options.
